Growing up, the one lesson that was a mantra in my household was, “You have to work twice as hard to be looked at as equal!”
Being black in America is twofold in the dream of prosperity in this country.
On one side, we are a talented and resilient people that have thrived through adversity. On the other side, we have been oppressed for the very same talents and trades. I put myself in the circle of change makers because it is my duty to rise in spite of! National Pawn has afforded me the opportunities to be myself and represent this company as a black woman, as a Store Manager and as a change maker in my surrounding community.
